Introduction to Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for Industrial Applications

Purpose and goal

The aim has been to accelerate the dissemination of general knowledge about AI / ML and how to concretely evaluate practical conditions and possible business value of applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) in the industry. An introductory package was created in the project and within the framework of the project, 217 people from widely distributed industrial sectors have undergone this introduction package and the goal is therefore considered well-fulfilled.

Expected results and effects

217 participants have participated in the project with good geographical distribution and dissemination within diverse industries. Information and results about the project have been disseminated via Automation Regions channels in the form of networks, newsletters and active visiting companies. Several of the participating companies have shown interest in taking additional steps in the form of pilot projects for applications that have been identified and quantified within the project.

Planned approach and implementation

The offer to the industry "Introduction package for applied AI / ML in the industry" was spread on a large scale through Automation Region, social media and via direct outreach. The Introduction packages have to some extent been adapted to the conditions of each participating company. All packages have included a general education as well as dedicated workshops to introduce a method for identifying suitable applications for AI / ML and using the method together with the companies to create an example that they can then build on.
