Purpose and goal

INSA’s goal was to develop strategies, processes, and practices for international collaboration in the areas of: student exchange (studies, internships, projects, and degree projects) connected to industry research connected to industry industry and public sector partners and universities contract education ("life-long learning")

Expected results and effects

Through INSA, a number of best practices have been identified, these include: strategic partnerships within both business and academy, participation in local networks in regions where international collaboration is centred, and university management commitment. The project has also lead to suggestions regarding future work based upon the areas of improvement within each area of international collaboration identified by the pilot projects.

Planned approach and implementation

The pilot projects in INSA were each connected to one or more of the areas strategy, education, research, and lifelong learning. The pre-conditions for, and backgrounds in, international collaboration differ among the participating universities. Therefore, so does the nature of the pilot projects. In sum, the results of the pilots have provided several key success factors within each of the areas of international collaboration.
