Integrated pre-analytics for events with local traffic impact

Purpose and goal

Yearly tens of thousands of planned events take place in urban areas all around Europe. The majority of these events have a large impact on the traffic and citizens mobility as roads are shut off and public transports are rerouted in conjunction with the events. This Pre-study’s goal is to examin the potentials for efficiency gains of a system adressing the problem described above, and inviting various actors to a wider knowledge build-up that is relevant for several market verticals as well as industry and university.

Expected results and effects

This pre-study aims to identify a wide base of actors who are willing to contribute and work to contribute to an overall system where information can be exchanged on a standardized say in planning and executing large road closures in urban areas.

The project is planned in four phases. 1) Need analysis 2) Development of prototype 3) Verification of need by evaluation of prototype 4) Report write-up and publishing
