Important results from the project
The objective of the project is to develop a sensor technology platform based on the a new LIDAR concept, for profiling and monitoring of combustion and industrial processes. Through the project, a research concept has been jointly developed into a technology platform which finally has resultet in an instrument which fulfills the challenging requirements typically found in industrial combustion processes. Field tests has been conducted within the project which shows a performance and robustness that fulfills and surpasses the initial project expectations.
Expected long term effects
The project has resulted in a LIDAR technology platform and an instrument for diagnostics and gas profiling within industrial combustion processes. Through the results generated by the instrument, development within new analysis methods and modeling has been conducted, both from an academic perspective but also from an end-user perspective. In addition, since actors across the entire value chain are involved, continuation of the developed technology is natural both from a technical perspective but equally well from a marketing perspective.
Approach and implementation
The project has followed the project plan presented for the project. This plan starts with the applications and requirements of the end users. By the tight cooperation between academic researchers and industrial engineers it has been possible to develop a technology platform sequentially. Of equal importance is to follow the continuous test and verification plans in the project. Thus, computer tools and models have been developed which have been very valuable to verify the developed technology in a continous manner and to minimize and mitigate risks during the project activities.
