Purpose and goal
The main objective of INSICT - An offort for increased use of industrial IT is to increase the knowledge of the possibilities to integrate IT and telecom in product and process technology, to contribute to competence development and technology dissemination within subject area as well as contribute to that advance product and process development will be accomplished.
Expected results and effects
Integration of electronics and IT in products and services within branches outside the traditional IT branch should lead to enhanced functionality, usability and usefulness for the customer. This should also incline increased sales, production and competitiveness for the company as well as increased employment, enhanced working conditions and increased well fare for the society.
Planned approach and implementation
The project will after the company selection be started with personal contacts. In some company visits the need analysis will be carried out in order to map the market and business circumstances for integration of IT and electronics in companies products and processes. If further bases for decision is needed before the actual R&D action takes place a pre-study with the purpose of mapping the technical and finance risks will be carried out. If the complete bases for decision can be concluded in a positive manner the R&D project will be started with support of the INSICT program.
