Purpose and goal

The main objective of the project is to further develop the overall social, environmental and economic sustainable green space management in Sweden. This will provide attractive and livable outdoor environments, through an increase in number of ecosystem services without increasing the economic resource input. Focus is to develop the value chain from defining, procuring and performing collaboration between managers / buyers and contractor / supplier through efficient business models. This will ultimately lead to greater focus on the benefits for the citizen / end user.

Results and expected effects

The overall result of the pilot project is a proposal for `Samverkansprojektet´ that create new opportunities for the management and development of the outdoor environment. The new proposal takes form as a partnership representing all central professional actors involved in all aspects from specification to implementation of a contract / relationship between a purchaser and a provider. The effects will be better utilization of resources, particularly the inclusion of social and environmental perspectives in the management of outdoor environments.

Approach and implementation

The pilot project has through workshops with partners, market analysis and an international outlook resulted in a project for developing a model for specification, procurement and implementation of the management and development of sustainable urban outdoor environments. 1. Social contract and other sustainability requirements 2. User Involvement 3. Competence (purchaser and provider) 4. Quality 5. Inspection (and follow-up) 6. Construction process with implementation and relational forms. Development and testing of the model will be done during the collaboration phase.
