Important results from the project
The aim of the project was to investigate the conditions for developing productivity and work safety in the construction sector (from design to construction) by collaborating and linking digital design to small-scale robotization with low investment cost (
Expected long term effects
The project has been the start of a business-driven construction robotics network at LTH that has attracted a critical mass of knowledge and business prior to a UDI step 2. The project system vision provides the opportunity to also benefit both business and society benefits not only productivity but also work safety & gender equality, environmental impact and variable building quality, all linked to Agenda 2030
Approach and implementation
The project has confirmed, strengthened and developed the application´s hypotheses about the sector´s large and complex societal challenges as well as problems and needs. Although the sector has a high understanding of the need for change, it generally has its own will / capacity for change. The scheme is therefore a system of hypotheses that are well documented but deviate from the currently dominant development lines, which are based on a fragmented value chain and mass production in factories. The project team is composed and developed to handle complex systems.
