Important results from the project
The goal of this prestudy was to plan an international collaboration project within the area antimicrobial peptides for medical device applications, for the purpose of preparing an application to Vinnova´s programme, Marie Curie incoming.
Expected long term effects
The prestudy has resulted in a realistic plan an international research project and for transforming the MC candidate into a future research leader in his field. The planned project is expected to result in new and sustainable international collaborations and, in the long term, new knowledge, technology and products for the medical device sector.
Approach and implementation
The prestudy consisted of initial contacts between the concerned organizations and individual, a site visit of the MC candidate at the host institution, planning of a collaboration project, and drafting of a proposal to Vinnova´s Marie Curie Incoming programme. In addition to the scientific content, special consideration was given to career planning for the candidate and to formulating a strategy for exploitation and use of results expected from the research project.
