Purpose and goal
We will develop a digital aid that helps visitors with cognitive impairments to visit and appreciate exhibitions at museums or other public spaces. Using sensor and positioning technologies, the system will know the position of each visitor, and the user experience at different parts of the exhibition can be tailor-made for the profile of that specific visitor. The aim is that everyone, regardless of cognitive impairment, should be able to appreciate the contents.
Expected results and effects
The digital aid we will develop within the project is a computer system that keeps track of all visitors to the exhibition, their physical locations, their profiles, and the interactions the visitor is having with the different stations of the exhibition. In the project, we will be using Tekniska Museets upcoming exhibition "Man-machine" as a test case.
Planned approach and implementation
In this project, we will design the system using active user participation, where we meet the same group of people at several occasions. We use active user participation to ascertain that the fundamental ideas and concepts used when developing the digital aid also take the needs and abilities of the user group into account.
