Increasing Printed Electronics products accuracy by processing the printed components or devices after printing

Reference number
Coordinator RISE Research Institutes of Sweden AB - RISE AB ICT Acreo
Funding from Vinnova SEK 498 837
Project duration November 2018 - August 2019
Status Completed

Important results from the project

The aim of the project was to investigate the possibility of using digital trimming of passive components made with printing technology to reduce the distribution in performance. The project has shown this for screen-printed capacitors and resistor. The results show that the digital trimming method is well suited for the production of printed electronics.

Expected long term effects

The project results show the usability of the digital trimming method. Production of printed electronics can be improved with the tested method. Higher yield can provide both lower manufacturing costs and a positive contribution to sustainability through lower waste. The results are not yet implemented in the production.

Approach and implementation

The project has been completed with two partners; An institute (RISE) and a newly started small company (Consensum Production). The basic studies of the technique were carried out by the Institute and the production-close parts were carried out by the company. The implementation of the project has worked well and both parties have worked towards the goals set and are important for the company´s development and competitiveness.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
