Project duration June 2014 - January 2015
Status Completed
Venture Challenge-Driven Innovation – Stage 1 initiation

Important results from the project

The purpose with the project is to empower people with cognitive and mental disabilities by creating a data collection tool in which we have combined different data collection methods. We have developed a concept for such a tool that enables the presentation of survey questions in ways that better suit the target audience where the participants can choose in which way to answer these questions. In this way we provide opportunities for more people to be able to participate in various studies and research activities.

Expected long term effects

As a result of our project we can now show and describe what a data collection tool should look like. We have tested 16 different methods of data collection and combinations of them together with people with different cognitive and psychological disabilities and managed a process for data collection in a tool for more people to participate in various types of investigations and development.

Approach and implementation

Experts and people with different disabilities have participated and collaborated in the project to specify the requirements and the design of the tool. User participation has taken place in several different stages mainly in cooperation with the Begripsam project, where persons with dyslexia, language disorders, autism, Asperger´s, ADHD and learning disabilities have participated. We have also collaborated with RSMH (the National Association for Social and Mental Health), and people with mental disabilities.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
