Purpose and goal

Implementation of modern solutions to make social services better known and more accessible to children and young people has begun and a foundation for continued implementation work has been laid. So far, the project has not conduced to children seeking support in a greater extent. Though, it is highly plausible that this will change as accessibility increases when counseling via Snapchat can be started. Social services are increasingly becoming more well-known, accessible and accepted to children and a foundation for influence and participation is beeing laid.

Expected results and effects

Our ambition when the project started was for all municipal schools to start implementing the teacher´s guide and education about social services. Since it is up to each individual principal to make this decision, in the end, there were seven schools that participated in the project. However, the evidence has been sufficient to establish the good effects of teaching about social services. The results from implementation in different types of schools with no previous experience is similar to the results from the pilot project.

Planned approach and implementation

During the project, it has become clear that each and every school themselves make decisions about possible participation. From this follows that our ability to motivate school staff to participate has been crucial for the outcome of the project. The collaboration between different professions and employed youth has been a tool for making good tradeoffs and decisions. A risk analysis of social services´ presence on Snapchat based on GDPR has dragged on over time, which has contributed to the delayed launch of an information campaign aimed at young people.
