Purpose and goal
The International Innovation Conference as well as IFIAs first international congress was held during two days with good international participation. IFIAs members received essential statistics, facts and research results, strengthening and clarifying the inventor´s central role as a source of innovation. The Congress also included a lecture by Bola Olabisi, Chairman of the Global Women Inventors & Innovators Network, clarifying to the Congress delegates, the female inventors present conditions and the need for change regarding the same.
Results and expected effects
The participants received substantial status information from both the WIPO representative as well as results from studies and research, certifying the inventor´s importance. However, the organizers expected outcome from the event largely failed, concerning both media coverage and the Swedish authorities and Government Representatives loss of attendance. None from the Industry Ministry, Vinnova, TvV, IVA etc. visited either congress or conference. This surprised us, of course, given the interest that the topic ´Innovation´ clearly has attracted in recent years.
Approach and implementation
A working group of six key consultants are the ones who since May has been actively planned and developed both the conference and the congress in whole and in detail. The work has included producing both conference and congress programs, contacting and engaging the selected international lecturers. Venue issues, graphic design, multimedia elements, prints, presentation tech, lunch/dinner logistics, financial management, booking procedures, web site programming, event and transport information, ongoing reconciliation with IFIAs Secretariat was part of the completed efforts.
