ICT solution for real-estate companies

Reference number
Coordinator WATTY AB
Funding from Vinnova SEK 1 359 000
Project duration December 2013 - August 2015
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The goal of the project was to evaluate the technical and economical potential of using energy load separation to help real-estate companies get better control over energy costs in their buildings. In the project a number of pilots was conducted with several big Swedish real-estate companies. We demonstrated that there was an interest in being more data driven when working with energy costs but not that load-separation was the critical technology for building that functionality for.

Results and expected effects

The project demonstrated that there was real industry interest in getting better tools for keeping track of energy costs. In particular, companies were requesting services for fuse optimisation, identification of ´outliers´ and comparing energy use with energy audits and other buildings. Solutions in this area could lead to large savings in the coming years. A conclusion from the project is that load-separation has a bigger potential in the domestic market.

Approach and implementation

The project was conducted in collaboration with a number of different real-estate companies who all had different types of buildings in different parts of Sweden. Watty built a simple system for collecting and analysing incoming data to provide insights about how to reduce . The project was severely delayed when one of the partners were not able to complete their installations as planned. The issue was resolved by Watty making the installations directly and then the pilot could be completed.
