The overall goal for the project is: To create a deeper understanding of Swedish ICT researchers in R & D for growth in the SME To create a deeper understanding of the SME of the possibilities of Swedish ICT research skills. The targets have been largely met by scientists involved in the projects who have worked against the very clear market demands channeled through SMEs and their requirements. Similarly, SMEs made a market review to determine the requirements by customers.

Results and expected effects

The new technology that the 6 SMEs have developed and integrated in products will later become results in terms of commercial values. Prototypes and demonstrators must of course be taken to a product level before the market introduction. In the longer term, that is, 4-6 years after project completion an aggregate annual turnover of the participating SME companies at 20 times the investment that is 60 million (20 times 3 million)is expected. Swedish SMEs are likely hereby to realize what new business opportunities Swedish ICT R&D can generate.

Approach and implementation

Each individual SME identified as target companies have been able after approved applications to implement the project in two stages where the first starting point has been to identify a paying customer for the new product. This has also been an end in the preparatory phase Feasibility study - business development (step 1). The second stage, that is, the deepening part has been implemented as an R&D project or in-depth feasibility study or technical verification. The final delivery consists of approved prototype / demonstrator and final report.
