Purpose and goal

This project contains of two parts: I can - to develop a certification to increase the accessibility of sports facilities and venues, and I know - to strengthen the independence of children and youth with disabilities. The purpose of the project is to get more people with disabilities into an active lifestyle and sports, as well as to create cooperations for this between different actors in society (volunteers, public sector and private sector)

Expected results and effects

Better Health: By gathering contributions from a variety of actors to give better prerequisites for a physically active life and sports Individual freedom and social Life: Better health gives greater prerequisites to handle rasks who have been, or have been perceived as, difficult. In its turn, this creates an increased opportunity for greater independence Socioeconomic profits: Better health brings a decrease in medical care needs, increase the participation in the labor market and kan in the long run decrease the need for assistance

Planned approach and implementation

Together with actors in academia, the private sector, municipal activities and the nonprofit sector we want to give wide ownership in both I know and I can. The goal for the project is to produce models that also after the end of the project time can be applicable in different local contexts and live on. The project is shaped and developed through test periods in different local areas around Sweden to find solutions to increase the accessibility to sports and a physical active life for more people.
