Purpose and goal

A SiC based insulated DC/DC converter, 650 VDC/28 VDC 10 kW demostrator has been built and tested. 1) The demostrator shows higher efficiency, >6%-units higher than corresponding Si based DC/DC. 2) A basic control has been implemented. 3) EMI-emission has been measured and the demonstrator has been adjusted. 4) Physical demostrator has been built.

Results and expected effects

It is verified that an isolated SiC DC/DC converter with higher efficiency can be made which will result in fuel savings for heavy hybrid vehicles. All defined part deliverables are fullfilled: 1) Electrical design of functional prototype, schematics 2) PCBA, layout 3) Verification of function of PCBA 4) Manufacturing of PCBA 5) Design of basic mechanics for functional prototype 6) Manufacturing of mechanics 7) Implementation of control for system tests 8) Performance measurement 9) EMI emission test 10) Final report

Approach and implementation

The project was executed against a number of milestones. The milestones has not been needed to be reviced. The project finished on time.
