Important results from the project
Implementation of both the networking and the hackathon in Health Hack Day went very well and aimed to stimulate open innovation with about 65 contestants in more then 20 teams. A broad mix of skills among the attendants and many interesting proposals where presented to the jury and the audience. Friday´s networking was appreciated with many inspirational speakers and a good mix among the guests who came from both entrepreneurial companies as well as more established companies, research, government and patient representatives.
Expected long term effects
In essence, the project was aimed at developing prototypes, establish contacts and knowledge among the participants and provide exposure to the open innovation process and the best entries in the competition. The result was 21 solutions across a wide range of problem areas. Many mobile solutions, including gamification and portable sensors are among the solutions that where developed. Of the 21 contributions that where presented will nine be shown on the main stage at the Digital Health Days conference. Many new contacts have been taken among the contestants and invited visitors.
Approach and implementation
The initial networking event with interesting speakers was a good way to attract people who may otherwise be difficult to get to participate in this type of event. It created a good basis for further dialogue and interest, and many connections among participants where made.
