Purpose and goal

The project has further developed existing cooperation between the local gymnasium and local companies where collaborative models for greater exploitation and integration of digital craftsmanship in traditional occupations has been added. At the same time a foundation for a sustainable local Maker movement named Handy Makers Herrljunga has been laid, this has in its inital phase served as the training platform and workshop for the project.

Expected results and effects

Much of the project has been about being able to apply new technology on existing installations. However the initial threshold of the project were to get the two different worlds, the school´s students and working people, to talk to each other and be creative as a group. Therefore an idea generator was developed that aims to capture the expertise of the respective category and randomize it as an issues which could be analyzed and discussed by the assembled group and then possibly lead to concrete solutions.

Planned approach and implementation

The Project was conducted largely at the Herrljunga Electric AB site. The project team assembled a Makers local with tools such as computers, servers, 3D printers, electronics labs and development platforms. The local was then used for training in programming and industrial design and worked as a workshop for the projects that emerged with the help of the idea generatorn. The group developed a wireless app controlled development platform based on Arduino and BLE as the basis for continued development and testing of various solutions in the project.
