Important results from the project

The project has with few exceptions achieved its objectives; new technical solutions and services have been developed and they have all been tested in the clinical reality with constructive results. Some solutions have already reached a commercial level. The number of scientific publications have surpassed the set targets, and a wide influence effort has successfully been carried out.

Expected long term effects

Five innovation-focussed subprojects have all delivered solutions for precision orthopedics that will live on beyond the end of the project. A close collaboration between healthcare, industri and academia has ensured that the developed solutions match actual clinical challenges in a ground-breaking way. The developed innovations are in different stages, from a promising prototype where more basic development is needed, via a mature solution where clinical validation is ongoing, to a successfully started commercialization.

Approach and implementation

The work has been carried out in tight cross-sectorial collaboration between parties from healthcare, industry, and academia. Six different subprojects have had their respective focus, but also had good synergies inbetween them, based on the common cornerstones of the project such as the utilization of modern imaging technology. Validation of the developed solutions has been done through rigorous studies. Commercial aspects such as business models have also been prototyped. In addition, much effort has been put into disseminating knowledge and nudging norms.
