Purpose and goal

Demonstrators of component technology as well as novel manufacturing technology have been carried in the project. In total, 7 demonstrators have been completed within the project. 6 additional demonstrators will continue towards TRL6 validation in the IntDemo Motor project.

Expected results and effects

GKN Aerospace has won new business in civil aviation engines with several engine integrators, as a result of the project. Three SMEs have been certified for serial production. SME partners reports growth and new international business. The executed demonstrators contribute to reduced environmental impact from aviation.

Planned approach and implementation

The project was organized into 13 work packages, one for each demonstrator. An important success factor has been the close contact with the engine integrators. Several SMEs were involved as subcontractors, Inpernova, Tuvanium, Dalco, MVG Kristinehamn, RLM Mekaniska, Råbe Tooling, Bröderna Carlsson AB, AIM Östersund, ARCAM, HB Mekaniska, Elite Composite, AH Automation, LKN Automation, TPC Hallstahammar, Finepart, HDL, AnVa KSG, T Ottosson Mekaniska AB, Cascade Control AB and Odenity. In total, more than 8.7 MSEK of GKN´s share of the project budget has gone to SME suppliers.
