Purpose and goal

Through increased mobility between Fagerhult and JTH, the project´s objective is to identify new materials and processes for replacing components with a high climate impact.

Expected results and effects

Reduced environmental impact from Fagerhult´s products seen over the products´ life cycle by using of new materials that have not previously been worked with and that have different properties than the materials used today. In addition, the project will lift the collaboration between the parties to a new level with a deeper insight into each other activities and development of personal contacts. The developed form of cooperation is intended to be used as a model for the cooperation between JTH and other industrial partners in the region.

Planned approach and implementation

A researcher from JTH will work in both organizations for 18 months. This will have the following positive effects: - The collaboration is raised to a new level with deeper insight into and understanding of each other activities as well as the development of personal contacts. - Personal development of the researcher for the benefit of future project with manufacturing companies and the teaching at JTH. - Better matching of student projects to Fagerhult´s needs. Both organizations will each have a working group to support the implementation of the project.
