Important results from the project
The goal was to prepare a 1B application to establish the city of Gothenburg as a test arena for innovative solutions to improve the acoustic environment. This included an analysis of needs, the formation of a consortium and the establishment of a possible reference group. Also the technical and administrative structure needed to succeed in setting up the test bed was discussed. Results from this work were used in a 1B application.
Expected long term effects
A consortium was formed consisting of Chalmers, SP, City of Gothenburg (Environment and urban transportation offices), Älvstranden Utveckling AB and Swedish Transport Administration. A first selection of possible physical test areas was conducted. A preliminary demand specification for the virtual test bed was defined to ensure realizability of the virtual test bed. A reference group was established which has a key role as advisor and evaluator for the project.
Approach and implementation
An analysis of needs was conducted that showed a lot of interest from manufacturers and consultancies in acoustic environmental technologies for the use of test infrastructure. The needs analysis was used as the basis for a 1B application and a possible design of the test bed. Contact was made with Business Region Göteborg to place test bed as a part of Gothenburg innovation platform.
