Project duration November 2016 - January 2018
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The Global Goals Lab Test bed has conducted testing of sensors, hardware and developed different methods for collecting real-time data and making the data open. A technical platform has been built that includes backend, API, website, first version of app as well as design and visualization of data. Testing of hardware, sensors and data collection has taken place with Husqvarna, Telit, Ezy system, Bosch, Intel and 11 Swedish cities, resulting in new innovations.

Expected results and effects

The result of the project has enabled cities, organizations and companies in Sweden to donate their real-time data to our platform, which is then visualized on our website. All data is stored open is accessible to all. The platform has been developed in a first version where backend, api, web page and visualized data interact. Through our test bed, we have gathered data through sensors and data donations, together with companies, organizations and cities, creating increased understanding and new innovations.

Planned approach and implementation

The project has undergone four phases; Research & Planning, Developing the Technical Platform, launching & linking data, as well as business innovation projects with integration of new data with partners. Basic platform is developed with digital toolbox, web and API for sharing and collaboration. What is left is now the development of a started app. We have engaged several partners companies & cities and successfully linked data. We receive data continuously and have received a very large data donation, which requires further scaling, improved API, and advanced data visualization.
