Project duration September 2013 - September 2014
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The purpose of the Future dental clinic is to establish a national test-bed where industry, academia, the stakeholders in dentistry and patients can work together to develop, test, evaluate and improve the services, products, processes and organizational solutions in dentistry. A platform where healthcare and societal needs can be translated into ideas, which in turn can be developed, tested, and hence implemented in healthcare. After completion of the feasibility study, the project is now ready to establish a permanent test bed.

Results and expected effects

The potential the Future dental clinic stands for from a growth and innovation perspective is primarily to create a national contact between innovators and dental care stakeholders to facilitate the development, testing and launch of new services, products, processes and organizational solutions, and to raise the awareness in dental care for the benefit of these. Short decision paths with opportunities for rapid feedback from both users and patients leads to improvement suggestions being quickly captured and used for further development of the products.

Approach and implementation

The Future dental clinic proceeds from a physical clinic as a platform for the business and a number of test laboratories with specialized resource persons. Through the partners there are also resources at other locations in the country, with a geographical spread as well as in areas not covered by its own expertise and resources. Through the resources all in all, both in terms of skills and equipment, the test-bed will be well able to meet the needs that the feasibility study suggest.
