Project duration January 2015 - December 2015
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The project comprises seven sub-projects decided during the earlier work process for the NMI mission. All sub-projects were completed according to plan as described in the initial project descriptions.

Results and expected effects

Impact and results for all projects were fulfilled. The main results expected and delivered were: 1. Quantum-based normals for impedance 2. 3D-Surface structures - licentiate degree at the University of Halmstad 3. Positioning - licentiate degree at Chalmers 4. Optical reference - development of reference systems for length, HF and T&F 5. CFD Turbulence Models - licentiate degree at Chalmers 6. An optical frequency transfer - new methods of frequency transfer via optical fiber 7. Primary Realization pressure -Development of traceable measurement technology for low pressures

Approach and implementation

The following seven multi-year projects were granted in 2013 by VINNOVA and the program committee for metrology. All 7 proejcts followed their initial plans and completed in good order. This has, among other achievements, led to good results in the EMPIR-calls as well as 2 licentiate degrees and one more to come. The projects were: 1. Quantum impedance 2. 3D - Surface structures (PhD project) 3. Positioning (PhD project) 4. Optical reference 5. CFD Turbulence Models (PhD project) 6. Optical frequency transfer 7. Primary realization pressure All seven projects w ill be completed in 2015.
