Project duration June 2015 - February 2016
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The product usability and impact on how the caregiver adjusts and improves the treatment with access to continuous feedback during simulated ventilation on manikin has been proven in Nordic multicenter study. The product, with its unique features, has gained great interest in Sweden as well as in Europe. An initial product offer on the equipment as a training device for use on manikin has been compiled and presented, which has attracted several potential first customers. The product is thereby considered to meet the customer need and expectations.

Expected results and effects

Despite minor variations in healthcare routines among the Nordic countries, the expected result of a significantly larger part of the given treatment within recommended range was met. Several test users communicated interest in participation in clinical evaluation of the device, which creates a good foundation for continued work on CE-marking the device. The confirmation that the finalized product concept meets the customer need together with several product enquiries on the training device will certainly increase the interest for the project in upcoming investment round.

Planned approach and implementation

Learnings from previously developed and evaluated prototypes enabled finalizing a well functioning prototype communicating the product´s full potential, which sparked great interest among users. It enabled discussions on collaborations and product sales as well as a successful manikin study at 5 Nordic locations. Previously established contacts helped set up the study, then conducted by Monivent at each clinic. Market research, interviews and requests to clinics was complemented with participation at clinical symposium for deeper market understanding and new contacts in EU.
