Important results from the project
The project has met the technical goals regarding development of: 1. Optical components for inter-data center communication. 2. SDN-based automated and vendor-independent control of packet-optical networks. This has strengthened the business position for the Swedish industry partners.
Expected long term effects
The innovation that has taken place in the project has laid the foundation for further development of cost-effective and flexible products and services. The project has brought together Swedish technology-driven companies with each other and with new partners in Europe. This has strengthened Sweden´s international competitiveness in the field of data center communication and contributes to increased economic growth.
Approach and implementation
The setup with frequent meetings and interactions between partners within each activity and regular coordination meetings with all project partners has worked well. Collaboration with participants from other sub-projects in the form of an implemented field trial has also been successful.
