EURAXESS Network Project

Important results from the project

EURAXESS Europe has focused on improved support for researcher mobility and the development of career support. The Swedish network has worked to remove obstacles in migration, social insurance, bank accounts and similar issues. Likewise, development of career support at universities through conferences, workshops, working groups and exchange of experience. The network has been broadened and consists of personnel from sections such as HR, service, career support and research support; 150 people from 33 universities of which 17 ESC. 15 universities have received the HR Award.

Expected long term effects

The Swedish EURAXESS network has grown and the activities have increased. The cooperation and activities within the network play a significant role for the individual university in the development of support functions for mobile researchers. In Sweden and in the European network, obstacles to mobility are identified and efforts are made to find joint solutions. The Swedish network has on several occasions participated in discussions with authorities, SUHF and the Platform for Internationalization. The network is now an established party whose views are requested at national level

Approach and implementation

During the five years, several meetings have been arranged for the network, online and onsite, with reports and information from EURAXESS, participation of authorities and reports from working groups, study visits and conferences. The focus has been on networking and collaboration to highlight Sweden as a research nation and to remove obstacles to mobility. The Swedish EURAXESS portal is a source of information about Sweden, for researchers as well as for universities. It has been developed with practical information and films and expanded with a section for the Swedish network.
