Purpose and goal

The purpose of the study was to evaluate feasibility and prepare the start of a demonstration project in order to achieve energy-efficient care through digitization. The goals bellow have been met: comprehensive understanding of the parties´ benefits, motivational factors and challenges to achieve energy-efficient care. Knowledge of technical conditions for digitally measuring and analyzing energy use within the hospital. Adequate knowledge for starting a project. An innovation project is considered as feasible to start with.

Expected results and effects

Expected and delivered results are: Stakeholder-benefit analysis Situation survey of the available information and sources of information regarding a building´s energy usage and activity Suggestions to the high level architecture for the implementation of technical solution Goal and objectives for the innovation project Draft plan for implementation of the innovation project During the study has funding from the ViableCities of an innovation project been granted. Also Ericsson and Telia were added as partners.

Planned approach and implementation

To investigate needs and prerequisites were a number of core issues and the stakeholders to be interviewed identified. Interviews were conducted with key people in Locum and Danderyd hospital regarding challenges related to energy use in the real estate operation, the use of medical equipment and requirements on the indoor climate. Existing data sources for estate operation and health care activities and the need of supplementary measurements have been identified. From this platform has objectives, plan and proposed technical solution for an innovation project been developed.
