Venture Collaboration projects in cybersecurity and digital infrastructure

Purpose and goal

The purpose of the project was to solve a number of problems regarding how employees - especially in the public sector - identify themselves in digital services. The goal was to create a mobile eID that differentiates between the private and the role-based, built on a solution with the quality mark "Svensk e-legitimation" and that offers the public sector significant cost savings. By launching the Organization eID function in the mobile eID service Freja eID, we have fulfilled the purpose and achieved the goals of the project.

Expected results and effects

The result of the project is the Organization eID feature in Freja eID, which was first launched as a prototype and then deployed in production. This feature allows a user to separate the private and the role-based transactions in their eID, and it also offers support so that the transactions data is linked to the role in an organisation. We have validated that the concept works, both from a user, technical and from an operational perspective. We expect the solution in the long run to have major positive effects on Sweden´s digital transformation.

Planned approach and implementation

The project was initiated with high-level discussion with stakholders in Sweden´s digitalisation. From these discussions, proposals for concepts were created that were then tested with users and organisations. In the next step of the project, a collaboration was initiated with a municipality and the development could be done in close collaboration with them to quickly validate design, technical proposals and integration solutions. This in combination with a close dialogue with other organisations enabled us to keep a high pace in validating various development steps.
