Purpose and goal
The diffusion of environmental technology is an important approach to handle the transition to a low-emission society in the transport sector. The diffusion of current technologies is relatively slow and this pilot project was started in order to clarify the need for knowledge of policy and politics in order to increase the transmission rate.
Expected results and effects
The results of the project consists of a series of suggestions to further studies. These are organized under three main themes: 1) Effects of different types of incentives with a multi-and interdisciplinary perspective 2) How knowledge about what we can and what we wish can be integrated into policy formulation and practical policy and 3) Studies of power relationships, alliances and new interaction models, i.e. the policy process. The resultat areto be found in VTI report 893/2016: ´Policy for diffusion of electric vehicles: some current perspwectives and research needs.´
Planned approach and implementation
The project is performed in collaboration with VTI funded by Energimyndigheten: TÖIs part was funded by Vinnova, Enova and TÖIs core funding. Perspectives on policy and the use of knowledge in policy formulation and development of decision tools have been analysed using text analysis of documents. The Norwegian study has also looked at communication between operators and end users, using survey and interview data.
