Purpose and goal

MegaM@Rt2 gave Bombardier the opportunity to experiment with new methods and tools for model-based validation of the train control management system. Bombardier fulfilled this in strong cooperation with MDH and other relevant partners in the European consortium, like Smartesting (France). Bombardier tested the new methods and tools on its use case scenarios. The new methods gave possibility to get early results in projects from testing and validation of the train control management system.

Expected results and effects

In MegaM@Rt2, Bombardier has experimented with new tools for model-based development and validation of the train control management system. These tools were either provided by the consortium or developed in cooperation with MDH. In addition, new methods for model-based development and validation are discussed. The tools’ evaluation on Bombardier’s use case scenarios resulted in improvements across phases of the development and validation of the train control management system.

Planned approach and implementation

From the beginning till end, Bombardier actively participated in the Swedish cluster as well as European-wide meetings. A total of 13 Swedish cluster meetings were conducted over the course of 3 years, where the project results were presented. This is in addition to the European-wide plenary meetings held once every year. Bombardier’s cooperation with MDH and work package leaders went smooth throughout the project, which is reflected in completed deliverables as well as development and evaluation of prototype tools for Bombardier’s use case.
