Project duration March 2013 - December 2013
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

This project´s main objective was to develop technology solutions based on the XACML standard aiming at delivering automated distribution of user permissions, i.e. User Provisioning. The solution enables rule-based User Provisioning using the XACLM policy language.

Results and expected effects

The project has been successful. It was impacted by an unexpected interest from customers whose problem statements partly modified project goals. As planned, we initially put great efforts into targeting packaged integrations with third party vendors and User Provisioning technology solutions. During the project, customer feed-back led to a stronger emphasis on more generic APIs.

Approach and implementation

The project started with development of the models that were needed to enable usage of ARQ-technology in the calculation of combinations of permissions for individual users. Prototype development was made in Microsoft Claims-based environments. At the end third-party integrations and partnerships were investigated.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
