Venture Strategic Innovation Program Drive Sweden

Purpose and goal

The aim of the project was to establish a test site with automated vehicles in Gothenburg within Drive Sweden (DS). RISE Viktoria is responsible for program area Test Site Göteborg within DS. We have decided that each project is manned and organized case by case. There is also a pre-study of Verklighetslabb Göteborg, with the Gothenburg City Traffic Office and RISE Viktoria.

Expected results and effects

In Gothenburg, major collaboration projects include DriveMe, ElectriCity and DenCity with established organizations. Within Drive Sweden, a Test Site Göteborg program area has been established to develop more pilot projects and support companies and organizations that want to conduct experimental activities with automated vehicles in system solutions. In the project, a plan has been developed for a first application of self-driving electric minibuses at Lindholmen. This plan is the basis for the project Shared Shuttle Services in DS Krabat, which starts in May 2017.

Planned approach and implementation

The project was organized in work packages that all contribute to parts of the project plan for minibuses and to the organization of Test Site Göteborg. For all packages, the unknown is to be explored, but also to balance the risk. Important work packages are Validation, Business and Organization, Technology, Legal Framework, User Acceptance. The project was controlled agile with two-week sprints.
