Purpose and goal
The purpuse was to create a stronger value-chain for patients, caregivers and society. The number of elderly people and care consumers will increase. Recruitment problems in healthcare require new solutions. The goal was to create a digital service for physical (re)habilitation at home. Exercise that is properly designed and does not require staff on site, is motivating and creates better conditions for both patient and caregiver. Habbie currently contains 143 exercises selected by physiotherapists. The patient can easily exercise together with the virtual instructor.
Expected results and effects
The service is intuitive for the patient to use. Training "with" someone who performs the exercises correctly means that the patient does not risk misunderstanding and helps them reach their goal. The patient is reminded daily, which increases the probability that the exercise is performed, a must for recovery. Caregivers receive daily feedback via Habbie and can correct if needed. Staff can use more time on patients in need of physical contact and can still maintain contact with those who manage the training on their own. Resource optimization for caregivers, better result for patient.
Planned approach and implementation
An essential strategy was to quickly quickly test the first prototype. By involving research, patients and care providers, we gained knowledge about the different perspectives that the service needs to meet. Through an iterative process with design, development and testing, the service evolved gradually. In close collaboration with experts and stakeholders, we gained valuable insight into opportunities and problems. Their feedback has led to a service based on actual needs, not assumptions, shared by all municipalities and regions.
