Important results from the project
The aim with the project is to establish and develop infrastructures, models and methods that can be used in order to facilitate commercially sustainable systems for development of services. The main focus is on development of a digital marketplace where consumers can buy food products and, what is more, where validated product information from local food producers is displayed. One of the project objectives is to gain more understanding of the activities that take place in different digital marketplaces, especially as this knowledge may lead to new business models and activities. Another objective is to establish a sustainable environment for innovative services in a well-defined market. Therefore, the project aims to establish models, methods and mechanisms that can be used to develop high quality service structures as well as business models that are commercially sustainable. Finally, the project also intends to establish methods to enhance the capabilities and competencies of the producers, consumers and researchers that are co-operating in the digital marketplace.
Expected long term effects
The expected outcomes and effects of the project can be summarized as establishment of: Sustainable environment for innovative development of services within a well-defined market. Models, methods and mechanisms for an evolutionary development of service structures. Models and tools for development of digital businesses and their quality assurance. Methods for enhancing the competence of the partners that are co-operating in the digital marketplace. Methods and models to express product information in a digital form (RFID) that enables tracking of product flows as well as analysis of quality parameters. As well as development of prototypes in order to validate the fundamental concepts and mechanisms in a digital marketplace.
Approach and implementation
The project comprises five work packages (WP) as follows: 1: Management and co-ordination 2: Models and descriptions of products and services 3: Implementation of tools and infrastructures 4: Experiments, measurements and evaluation 5: Knowledge enhancement and dissemination
