Purpose and goal
The goal was to carry out tests with real customer cases. 20+ in-depth interviews have been conducted in the different user categories that we have identified. In cooperation with construction project managers in a mid-sized construction company, the quotation calculation software has been scoped, tested and verified in iterations. The system has also been used for quotation in real customer projects to verify it. A UX designer has worked with the project together with a team for user studies to produce an easy-to-use and easily understandable user flow that is now being implemented.
Expected results and effects
The project has largely gone according to plan. We got more and deeper user studies than we could have hoped for, with positive feedback and with valuable conclusions. The development has gone according to plan, but the focus has shifted from integration and platform development to deepen the user studies and to implement the results from these. The tests with construction companies have gone deeper, which has resulted in the development of the tender calculation software having come further than planned. The development of the contract signing has instead been done in a simpler way.
Planned approach and implementation
The project has been implemented by CEO, CTO and external resources; a UX designer, two external service providers (design, legal advice) and an external project team for user studies and process mapping. A first pilot product with associated support systems (database, authentication and document generation) has been built and is now being tested in a closed test. A mobile application is also being developed. A capitalization plan has been developed to be able to complete the product and launch it. Without the support of Building Innovation, the work had not come this far.
