|Project duration||November 2018 - November 2019|
Purpose and goal
The project aims at creating new course content in the between artificial intelligence (AI) and Service Design to enhance the professional skills of AI developers and designers in the intersection of these two fields. The course format must therefore be highly flexible, modularized, and self-paced to accommodate individuals in terms of both time and location to fit an active working life. Therefore, we aim to explore, create, and evaluate a podcast-based course platform for flexible learning in AI and Service Design.
Expected results and effects
1. Increased availability of new course content within AI and service design for professional specialists. 2. New knowledge on podcasting as a platform for flexible learning after evaluating the project. 3. Contributes to lifelong learning, as flexible course formats are key to becoming a natural part of continuous education in the professional world. 4. Higher degree of continuous interaction between the university and the surrounding (professional) society.
Planned approach and implementation
The project is divided into six work packages that are carried out for 12 months. A series of podcast episodes will be designed, produced, and evaluated based on the university´s standard course quality assurance. The work is done in close cooperation with industry actors, who are contributing both to domain knowledge and case, and as input as students of the initial pilot course. The project includes the university´s Higher Education Pedagogy Center, which contributes to pedagogical development and evaluates effects on learning as well as exploring possible examination formats.
