Purpose and goal
The main objective has been to strengthen Swedish competitiveness by assuring that Swedish industry can produce lightweight and sustainable products. Fulfillment of objectives: New solutions for hybrid joining have been developed and demonstrated. Industrial course ´Hybrid joining´ with 36 participants. Results from UFoH has been implemented in university courses. Supplier structure has been identified and developed in workshop. The objectives of the project have been met by cross-sectoral collaboration.
Results and expected effects
UFoH´s collaboration platform around hybrid joining has been created through a cross-sectoral combination of expertise on applications with expertise in hybrid joining. Direct project results are new innovative joining technology developed for and implemented in industrial demonstrators and concepts, development of new courses in hybrid joining, and supplier identification within production of lightweight products. The long-term effect of the project is strengthening the competitiveness of Swedish industry in manufacturing of lightweight products.
Approach and implementation
The project team has been working cross-sectoral with participants from sectors aeronautics, light vehicles, heavy vehicles, and marine. The method is based on industrial demonstrators defining requirements for the development of technology, people and supplier networks. Efforts to resolve development needs in UFoH has been conducted in four work packages (WP); WP1. Development of consortia; WP2. Development of technologies; WP3. Development of people and WP4. Development of supplier networks.
