Project duration December 2013 - May 2016
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The goal was to design a strategy for knowledge exchange and collaboration activities in a way that they can be integrated in education programs in a systematic and sustainable way. This goal has been reached, and there is also an in-depth discussion of the methods and strategies, as well as, the challenges and opportunities present in this work (see attached report).

Expected results and effects

At the three universities, about 180 teachers and program directors have been interviewed about their collaboration activities. This has, among other things, led to an increased interest in developing cooperation with society in the education, as well as to a better understanding of what such collaboration can mean and how to strategically include it in the education. The project has also had an impact on the work with quality assurance in higher education. An example of this is that the discussion about collaboration is often linked to students´ ability to achieve their learning goals.

Planned approach and implementation

The project is a collaboration between three universities where over 30 education programs have been involved. Reoccurring project and steering committee meetings, as well as joint workshops for teachers have led to knowledge exchange across all involved functions, as well as to support to the management level. The project´s five work packages have each had a WP-leader that together with the project participants from the respective institutions pushed the work forward. This model with a set of well-defined WPs have helped us structure the work in a seamless yet methodical way.
