Purpose and goal

The primary objectives was to strengthen cooperation between Swedish and international researchers in open innovation and improving the skills around methodology and the publication of open innovation research. The project has proceeded according to plan and we have managed to attract many participants to the workshops organized. Thus, the project has met the objectives that we set up and succeeded in its effort to build a strong base for further cooperation, and has already given proof of well-functioning collaboration through the joint publications and presentations created.

Results and expected effects

The project has resulted in a good cooperation with an international top researchers in open innovation. We have deepend our competence in the field by organizing three seminars/workshops for academics and practitioners. Through the project we have had the opportunity to present our research at an annual conference that brings together the world´s leading management scholars, and given us the opportunity to specifically highlight the importance of action research in the field. We also co-authored a journal publication with Prof Bogers.

Approach and implementation

In the project, we arranged a number of workshops and seminars with Prof Bogers. Prof Bogers visiting period was divided into several visits during the spring/summer 2015, which gave us an opportunity to spread out the different activities over time. The workshops and seminars were well attended and appreciated, especially by the practicioners we had the opportunity to invite. As there are several research groups at Chalmers interested in open innovation, there was also good opportunities for Prof Bogers to discuss and share his knowledge with a large network of people.
