Project duration December 2017 - June 2019
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

We have achieved our goal of developing a working model. There remains some development before we can complete the data collection tool itself. The model can be applied to all tools that meet high accessibility requirements. It is now possible to offer better statistics and thus better basis fordecisions regarding people with disabilities. There is a model to apply for designing surveys, collecting and analyzing data in a way that allows people with disabilities to participate in all parts.

Expected results and effects

We have tested our model first in two full-scale pilot projects and then in further projects. The model works and generates revenue in itself. We have been able to demonstrate that current methods of data collection have flaws and that our models and tools can produce and visualize more representative data. We expect this to have a major impact on how society collects data from people with disabilities.

Planned approach and implementation

We have applied principles for participatory action research. People with disabilities have worked with researchers, designers and developers to develop both model and tools. The arrangement has worked well. It is a time-consuming process, but if people with disabilities have a real influence, then processes and working methods need to be adapted.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
