Purpose and goal

The partially tested business model for co-op takeover of small-scale dams/power plants is considered workable and applicable to more. We have had two pilots, Badasjöarna (Torsby municipality ) and Grängen(Hagfors municipality ). Interest from the municipalities is strong, which we have experienced in e.g. a meeting with KLU in Hagfors municipality. More stakeholders: Älvräddarna, LRF , Vattenkraftens Miljöfond, Värmland-Dalslands Hydropower Association and SERO , Näckåns Energi and HSB Energi.

Expected results and effects

We are still planning to further develop and test the business model and link several dams, power plants and other fossil-free energy types such as solar and wind power, in “flow networks” and thus not only regional networks that exist today in terms of information, data, measurability (TOC - Theory of Change) and dialogue, as well as implementing a national and innovation-promoting structure for the management and development of dams and hydroelectric power stations.

Planned approach and implementation

Interviews and reports from building antiques, authorities, researchers, owners etc have given a complex picture, which explains the friction that exists. We therefore see diplomatic dialogues, linked data and alternative ways of creating local, flow, regional and nationally secured, energy supply/water flows as a necessity. It has proved to be an advantage to be a neutral party in the development of the business model, which has provided a diversified filter for the development of it.
