Concept for sustainable knowledge transfer composite

Reference number
Coordinator Swerea SWECAST AB
Funding from Vinnova SEK 499 919
Project duration October 2013 - December 2014
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The purpose and objective of this project was to develop methods, tools and procedures to ensure the competence level within the Swedish composites industry. A concept for marketing and administration of the courses within the LIGHTer programme has been developed as well as a method for improvement, quality assurance and development. This has been tested using two pilot courses where flexible learning was taken into account. All the objectives of the project have been met. As for flexible learning a form of this was used during the pilot course with good results.

Results and expected effects

The work routines for marketing and administration have reached the project´s expected results. Flexible learning was considered not fully applicable to this concept but was used in one form during one of the pilot courses. Course participation was lower than expected, but the concept could still be verified and tested in two pilot courses. Further, a model for quality assurance and continuous improvement was created and the project has also contributed to the larger goal of increasing the level of competence in the area of composites. For more information, please see included file.

Approach and implementation

The project has been carried out in four work packages which, for the most part, have run parallel during the project. In WP1, a model for the courses within the LIGHTer programme has been developed. In WP2, flexible learning was evaluated and adjusted accordingly given the model and requests from the industry. In WP3, two pilot courses according to the model were implemented. In WP 4, a routine for improvement, quality control and further development of the course structure has been developed.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
