Purpose and goal
The goal was to create a project and make the project preparatory measures: to develop an innovative concept for producing new stock products with better health and taste qualities, based in Swedish seafood, meat and poultry by-products. The project participants has been successful in developing a project plan and prior information, and put a lot of time to interact with interested companies to develop goals and plans that suit both research as well as the company´s strategic goals. The project intends to enter with application to Tvärlivs call B.
Results and expected effects
The project has developed a plan to meet the original projected impact, i.e. creating better: use of raw materials, the processing of animal by-products; Econ. solutions, cheap raw materials become products with high value; and health, a new process preserves bioactive substances. The project has put up further plans to increase the economic potential by including plans to investigate the role of broth as natural flavour in related products. Specifically, the project: has: Increased collaboration: the FFS and with companies; and laid the foundation for an application to Tvärlivs B.
Approach and implementation
From the beginning, the project was carried out as a limited study for the future main project, but has of necessity been changed to focus on collaboration. Collaboration in the earlier part of the project has been carried out mainly between research stakeholders. In the latter part, the interaction with company has been in focus. Several desired feasibility parts has been downplayed in favour of: attempting to entangle the overarching challenge the long-run drivers, issues and goals, with the constituent companies´ financial incentives and priorities. This has not been easy.
