Important results from the project
The project aims to enhance the ability of local authorities to publish open data by addressing the priority areas of the information needs. The project results will be contributing to the fundamental issues that exist within municipalities receive answers through clear tools in the form of articles and other guidelines, written to give clear answers to the corresponding information needs. Aims and objectives have been met.
Expected long term effects
The expected outcomes are that more municipalities publish open data, so that new, innovative services can be created. Increased knowledge about terms and conditions for open data is expected to increase the level of openness while publishing data, which will in turn lead to optimal re-use of said data.
Approach and implementation
The project underestimated the difficulty of getting information from other VINNOVA projects, as well as the difficulty of finding meeting times with municipal representatives. The insight that advice on open data comes from different perspectives was addressed in the publications. The need for information that was discovered was consistent between interviews, questionnaire and discussions at events on open data.
