Purpose and goal
The purpose of the project was to identify factors that affect results and ability to implement capacity development regarding innovation in public administration. The project has identified certain factors that seem important for how to work to achieve good results with capacity development. These factors can be categorized into six overall categories: * Management * Methodological "software" * Methodological "hardware" * Support for processes after the capacity development * Use of scientific-based knowledge in capacity development * Economy
Expected results and effects
The results of the study have been communicated at a relatively large number of seminars and workshops in Sweden. The results is gained insight into important factors considering competence development in innovation issues in public administration. Representatives of around approximatly 30 organizations have increased interest in and knowledge of innovation management.
Planned approach and implementation
The study looked at four different methods that municipalities and regions used in capacity development on innovation in their organizations. The study looked at initiatives in the municipalities of Lund and Oxelösund, Region Sörmland and Jämtland Härjedalen. The study has been conducted through 39 semistructured interviews with key stakeholders. Klas Palm at Uppsala University has completed the study and wrote a report and communicated results from the study in seminars and workshops.
