Important results from the project
The goal of the project is that with the help of film, visualizations and web increase understanding of what open data is, the benefits of open data, and inspire new innovative applications. The overall long-term objective of the project deliveries is that they contribute to greater environmental benefit.
Expected long term effects
Launch of three films took place in connection with the Nordic Open Data Week in June 2015 from the conference Offentliga Rummet in Visby. The films received great attention with many positive comments, shares and likes in social media. Several in public sector have announced that they wish to use the films in their own networks and communication work and the Environmental Protection Agency will continue to use them in many different internal and public communication events to come.
Approach and implementation
The project´s approach was to develop agency -produced films, self-produced films, visualizations and new web pages. The work was performed as planned with emphasis on film productions. Working with film and video as storyteller technique for open data has proved to be successful. Many want to reuse the productions and share them with others, which is in line with the preferences of film media as an important share and search optimization for Google and social media.
