Purpose and goal

The aim of the project was to show a different way to create and develop innovative solutions. Through the process and collaboration methodology utilized has developed solutions that meet the objectives of the project have been achieved.

Results and expected effects

The project has used a systematic approach to develop lightweight concepts. The targets have been achieved - the teams have developed the concept with a weight saving of approximately 40%. Some of the concepts are under a patent process and some of the concepts will be developer further to increase the readiness level and a potential serial implementation. More important, however, is the methodology involving both OEMs, system suppliers and subcontractors have been used and will be used in the future.

Approach and implementation

The results of the project have been achieved through a systematic approach in which senior researchers have led the process. The assessment based on the actual results and the participants view, the project has shown that with a changed view of how OEMs, academia and industry together provide better conditions for creating innovative design solutions
